Bahrain National Museum

Situatedat the junction of Al-Fatih Highway and Shaikh Hamad Bridge leading to

Muharraq, the Museum was officially opened in December 1988 to become one of the latest and largest museums in the Middle East.

The Museum consists of several exhibition halls covering the history of Bahrain from the stone age, through ancient civilizations and up to the pre-oil period.

 


Museum of Pearl DivingMuseum of Pearl Diving

Located on Bahrain National Museum, the Museum was converted into heritage Centre in 1984. Previously, the building was used as the Bahrain Law Courts, constructed in 1937.

The Museum consists of several exhibition halls displaying various aspects of the Bahrainis Daily life in the pre-oil period. Such aspects include pearls diving, national costumes, local musical instruments, a typical wedding chamber, domestic games, archive photographs, local herbal medical practices and the High Court Chamber which has maintained intact since 1937. The Heritage Center is the second best Museum worth Visiting.


Oil MuseumOil Museum

Located a few meters from the first oil well discovered in 1932 near Jebel Dukhan, or "Mountain of Smoke", at Sakhir, the Oil Museum was officially inaugurated in 1992.

It houses old drilling equipment, samples of rocks found underground, topographical maps and some information about the companies that had participated in the exploration for oil. Bahrain was the first country to discover oil in the Arabian Gulf region.


Currency MuseumCurrency Museum

This Specialized Museum is located into eh premises of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) in the diplomatic Area. Displayed in the Museum are ancient Arab, Islamic, and Byzantine coins mined of gold and silver. The Museum houses one of the nine rarest Islamic currency coins in the World. All Currencies circulated in Bahrain since the early Islamic dynasties are on display with full historical details. The Museum is of great benefit for currency collectors and to Islamic Currency research scholars.


Beit Al Qur’an Beit Al Qur’an

Located in the city of Manama's, Beit Al Qur'an or "House of Qur'an was inaugurated in march 1990. It is a typical specialized a Museum consisting of several floors and characterized by a most distinctly Islamic design.

The Beit Al - Qur'an house ancient manuscripts of the Holy Auarn, that have been, collected form there Islamic World, in general and from Notth Africa, I ran, I India, and China. in particular. It also displays great Islamic Artifacts, Jewelry and gold-ornamented glass utensil, indicated the great Islamic heritage arts that have had an influence throughout the world.

The building also includes a lecture hall provide with sophisticated equipment , a library of scientific and Islamic reference books, and an Arabic calligraphy exhibition and translation of the Qur'an into several languages, it definitely worth visiting as part of Bahrain touristic landmarks.


Bahrain Fort Museum Bahrain Fort Museum

Research and archaeological shows discoveries initiated by the Danish mission since in 1954 in Fort Bahrain in which different civilizations had sequenced on this area, where it was listed by the Organization "UNESCO" in 2005 within the World Heritage List.

Bahrain fort Museum was inaugurated in Bahrain in February 2008 and the museum was built very close to the ancient fort, and according to modern design allows the convergence of light and air, and vision allows visitors to identify five major eras the archaeological findings.

The museum is located on the coast ‬on the northeast part of the fort, ‮and the base is ‬an anchorage on the sea. The‬ museum has been designed to be based on building‮‬ consists of two floors off the sea while supporting facilities are located in Building consists of one floor and a courtyard / garden café and cafeterias that offers different selection of food.
